21 Weeks...and 4 days

Oops!  I've been meaning to write this post for a few days now - but I've been having too much fun!  Thursday night we went over to my mom and dad's house and did Jessica's taxes.  Well, Jessica did her taxes and I watched tv on their couch - woohoo!  Living the big life ;-)  We went out for Mexican food after and celebrated her -$139 but +$34 tax return.  Ha!  Then Friday, one of my friends had a baby!  She lives in Charlotte now so I haven't gotten to meet the sweet baby girl.  Hopefully baby Jude and baby Briley will be best pals!  I think our Friday night consisted of laundry, dinner, and bed at 9pm. 

But Saturday, after work, we really did have fun!  So, most people know we lived in St Kitts for the better part of a year.  We've been back for longer than we lived there but it still feels like a significant part of our lives.  We learned a lot about ourselves, each other, and made some amazing friends.  A few of our friends have made their way to NCSU for their clinical year so it's nice to have them in the area - even though we hadn't actually seen them yet!  One of our pals, Sarah, who lives in NY, came down for a visit and we all got together last night.  Those crazy kids are so funny.  :)

How far along:  20 weeks and 4 days

Total weight gain: +4.8 - appointment tomorrow

Maternity clothes: I'm jonesing for a pair of white jeans - maternity, non skinny jean, non ugly, white jeans.  Now, to find them...

Symptoms:  The lovely leg cramps continue and now I'm starting to swell.  This is fun

Stretch marks: No

Sleep: Not great.  Woke up randomly at 4am and could not go back to sleep - and then got a leg cramp

Best moment of this week: Seeing how silly my mom was when she got to feel some strong baby kicks

What's new this week: 10 1/2 inches and almost 13 ounces - approaching 1 pound!  He's busy sucking his thumb, yawning, and kicking (ooooh yeah does he kick!)  He's working on making hair - more than likely destined to be brown and straight.  He's also making blood cells.  He can blink and his eyebrows are formed.

Miss anything: I miss a lot of things but I'm so excited to be growing a healthy baby

Movement: Moving up a storm!!

Food cravings: The other day all I could think about was a Slurpee - like from 7-11.  Problem?  We don't have 7-11 in NC!  Jessica trooped along with me from gas station to gas station (ok, two gas station) looking for the "right" kind of machine.  It was red frosty heaven!

Anything making you queasy or sick: This week has been particularly rough with the heartburn.  And sometimes that makes me want to toss my cookies.

Have you started to show yet: It's not a tumaaah

Gender: Still a boy as far as I know!

Labor signs: Thankfully no!

Belly button in or out: Belly button is currently in.  But it really hurt the other night - not sure what that was all about!

Wedding rings on or off: On for the moment.  I'm resisting the fact that pregnant women get swollen because I'm "only" 21 weeks because you don't get swollen until the last few weeks.  Right?  Right?

Happy or moody most of the time: Depends on the day.  I feel like I complain a lot and that makes me moody

Looking forward to: Our first childbirth class this Thursday
