Curious Questions

Ever since we've announced the pregnancy, there have been some interesting questions.  I chalk it up to people's curiosity - rarely do they get a glimpse into a world unknown to them.  I appreciate the questions because it allows for less "creativity" in people's version of the answers.  And they're truly just curious!  It always begins the same way - "...sooooooo, can I ask a question?"  Of course!  Ask away!  None the less, it's made for some interesting conversations in the last few months!  Here are some of my favorites:

Q: Soooooo......winky face, winky face...can I ask a question?? Who does the sperm belong to?
A:  It technically belongs to me - I bought it!

Q: So did you pick an astronaut or a doctor?
A:  We picked the guy who was most like Jess - who's going to be a doctor - so he's an oral surgeon.

Q: Did you get to see pictures of him?  Like adult ones?
A: No, just one grainy preschool age photo, of the side of his face.  But Mickey Mouse looks great!

Q: How'd you pick?  Don't you just flip through a catalogue and pick one?
A: Basically yes, but everything is online.  I'm married to Jess - it wasn't that easy!

Q: No seriously, how'd you chose the spermer?  Did you have to put in an application?
A: Seriously, we picked the guy who was most like Jess...and who she thought she might tolerate the most.

Q: What'd you want the donor to be like?  Just perfect?
A: Well everyone has flaws but they don't advertise that he has a massive cowlick or a stutter.  We picked a guy with blue eyes and brown hair.  His BMI is even same as Jess'...yup, she went there.

Q: How long did it take for you to get pregnant?
A: Well how long did it take you to get pregnant?

Q: How exactly are you guys having a baby?
A: I'm pregnant and then one day, it'll come out.

Q: How is your bundle of joy coming to you beautiful ladies?  Through one of you?
A: Well, when two people love each other, they buy some magic seeds and do a lot of hard work and ta-da!  Eventually they get a baby!

Q: To Jess - Wait...you??  Noooo...?
A: Jess answer - Definitely no!

I think that's the highlights for now.  I'm sure there will be many more questions in the future - bring them on!  It's entertaining and educational!
