Friday we went to a friend's house to meet their sweet new little baby - little Miss Ellis came 5 weeks early 3 weeks ago and is doing great! She's an itty bitty peanut that has many, many people wrapped around her little finger.
Saturday we went to a Cloth Diaper 101 class. It was actually pretty awesome. She showed us all of the different types and styles of diapers. Jess and I differ a little bit with the type we think is going to work best for us - I agree with her that the all in ones or pockets are a good way to go, especially because he's going to be at daycare. (They're already a little wary of the cloth but they're open to it - don't want it to be any harder on them than it needs to be!) But, there are other kinds that are less expensive (and we were already gifted a TON!) so we don't need to add too much to our stash. I'm sure we'll get a good mix and have a good deal of trial and error. Later on we went to a friend's birthday party. The weather was gorgeous and the company was delightful.
Then Sunday, we met a friend for brunch at a place called The Flying Biscuit. I mean, come on, who doesn't like biscuits?! I had some kind of black bean patty topped with scrambled eggs, salsa and feta cheese...oh and a biscuit, of course! After a food induced coma, we went to see Jurassic Park in 3D/IMAX with my dad. Jessica was a little leery of the 3D because she gets some motion sickness from time to time but the Dramamine did her well and all the cookies stayed inside!
How far along: 26 weeks and 4 days
Total weight gain: Today, I don't want to think about it! Still full from dinner!
Maternity clothes: Yes - BUT, I wore all non-maternity clothes to work TWICE this week. I suppose that means my pants were a little big from the get-go
Stretch marks: None
Sleep: Yeah, tomorrow might be a bed by 8pm kinda day
Best moment of this week: Seeing him move from the outside!
What's new this week: He's about 14 inches long and I'm pretty sure he's head down. His network of nerves in the baby's ears are more developed - That explains why he was bee-bopping around during the movie! He's practicing breathing still. Apparently his baby testicles are headed down into the scrotum. Yup, that'd be good. If the baby's going to have testicles, we definitely want them to be where they should be!
Miss anything: My back not hurting? Going strong on a week of that with no end in sight...
Movement: Like a wild man!
Food cravings: Ice water
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing in particular but I get yucky waves from time to time
Have you started to show yet: Yeah, strangers are noticing...and being nicer
Labor signs: No but I'm still convinced I have a kidney stone working around in there
Belly button in or out: Still in
Wedding rings on or off: I got a fakey from Target that's satisfying me missing my regular ring...and it fits
Happy or moody most of the time: Mostly happy I'd say. I've been feeling pretty glowy and dreamy about the baby for a few weeks and that always puts me in a good mood
Looking forward to: Seeing his little face already!!
