Week 5

I STILL haven't wrapped my head completely around the fact that we're going to have a baby.  We're starting to think of all the things that need to get to get done, organized, purchased...and I'm getting a little overwhelmed.  But, being a girl, who is married to a girl, we've thought about baby stuff a time or thousand.  

I was reading an article on Pinterest today about 10 (or was it 12?) decisions you need to make about your newborn or they would be "made for you".  I think with the type of birth we hope for, most of these things will be discussed during our office visits.  Vaccinations, hearing screens, metabolic screens, artificial nipples...oye!  It dawned on me that we're going to need to find a pediatrician.  How the heck do we do that!  I'm hoping there's a master list at the midwife's office so I can start cold calling!  

Our mom's are dying to start telling people.  We've decided to wait just a little bit, until we get a heartbeat, before we tell the extended family.  It'll be so fun when they're able to tell people they're going to be granny's!  

For the weekly update: 

How far along: 5 weeks and 1 day 

Total weight gain: 0 - I don't think?

Maternity clothes: None 

Symptoms: I'm feeling pretty fantastic this week.  I am sleeping in my bra now because it feels better.  I got a stretchy comfy bra from Target that I'm pretty excited to test out tonight.

Stretch marks: No

Sleep: Sleeping pretty good these days - just realized that I probably shouldn't use the electric blanket this winter and that kinda bummed me out.  

Best moment of this week: We told Jessica's people this past Sunday and that was pretty fun!  We've also been tossing around nursery ideas (come on, two girls here!)...now I need to clean the clutter out of that room!

What's new this week: I tried a yoga class and joined a gym yesterday.  It was ok - I learned I'm not really very bendy.  In time, I suppose...

Miss anything: Last week it was beer, this week it's wine - good lord, I sound like an alcholic

Movement: No

Food cravings: No special cravings - am I actually pregnant here??

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing yet

Have you started to show yet: No

Gender: Guesses?  Guesses anyone?

Labor signs: No

Belly button in or out: In

Wedding rings on or off: Engagement ring, like normal.

Happy or moody most of the time: I have my sass moments but it's usually caused by something - this is nothing new

Looking forward to: First ultrasound - T-minus ONE week!!
